Much has been said about Central Park itself, being ranked as one of the top tourist destinations of New York City, but there is little information about the park’s small but interesting zoo. The Aquarium was just opened back in 2008 but is already attracting much attention and praise.

The zoo’s management is also very deep into animal enrichment which is a program to help exercise the animals’ minds and body - this program is in place to ensure that these animals in captive continue to retain their natural animal instinct despite being confined.

The Central Park zoo, despite lacking the space and number of exhibits, boasts of a very large penguin room which some consider as the main attraction of the zoo and they make their way to the grounds of the zoo specifically just to see the penguins during feeding and playing time. The kids will naturally have a ball learning about how the penguins feed, dive, swim and play with each other.
